I wouldn’t have cared about this Windows feature as I have no trust in a wireless solution, but then I came accross an interesting article about Miracast over Infrastructure. It is the native supported way to turn a Windows tablet into second penabled screen without any third party download. It can accept pen, touch and keyboard input from the Miracast receiver ( Samsung second screen, penabled Windows tablet). So Microsoft Wifi direct projecting from PC to PC is an interesting thing (and is probably an answer to Sidecar that no one cared about). Pen input might be possible but require extensive research. require some linux /Android knowledge and be somewhat tech savvy to set up.projected device: Android/windows/linux with VNC client.mirror or extend mode (might have some hardware requirements).projected device: ipad, android, windows, mac, linux ( anything with a modern browser where screen is projected).host pc: windows, mac or linux (pen and touch input only work on linux).pen and touch enabled confirmed on iPad (subscription).Additional 34.99$ annual subscription for apple pencil support 14.99 $ onetime purchase (wired only) or 24.99$ annual subscription with additional wireless and RD function.→ Pen and touch performance was good at full resolution in extend mode on iPad, Haven’t tried the new extend mode and Android option. can coexist with Super Display ( tested iPad version only).Host PC: Windows (project to both iPad and Android) and Mac (to iPad only).projected device: iPad or Samsung device with Spen.11.99$ one time purchase or 4.99$ annual subscription (same performance according to FAQ).Host PC: Mac or Windows ( currently beta).29.99$ onetime purchase standard version or 79.99$ annual subscription Studio version (faster and more features than standard). The projected PC was an underpowered Atom Windows tablet and our wifi was poor though. → I tried this and it worked with pen and touch, but slow as molasses. Can be connected over LAN network but most PC still must have Miracast capabilities (haven’s tested).Pen and touch can be enabled if host PC is windows.Project to Windows 10 tablet/PC/laptop (essentially turn your windows device into a wireless display).Windows wireless display (Project to this PC) Host PC must be a mac with macOS Catalina or higher.Project to all Ipad with Apple Pencil support.Still even over USB 2.0 on a 2013 laptop with integrated graphics, it still feel acceptable to draw on for me) by far the best wired solution with near native responses ( depending on 2.0 or 3.0 usb connection, CPU and CPU of host PC.Recommend disable USB selective suspend setting for prolonged use.beta support audio output, picking the GPU you want to use with Super Display.60hz and 120hz supported (120hz required on Android tablet over usb 3.1 connected).Support Pen and touch, wintab or Microsoft API.Project to Android tablet OS version 5 or higher.support mirror, extend display, choose custom resolution. Some of the solution here I have only heard of and lack information which might need input from others. This will cover all the OS (as long as the tablet is penabled. Since most of the people on this forum probably have one or a few old penabled tablet that is retired for outdated processor/OS, I make this thread to cover and dicuss what software we can use to bring new purpose for our old tablets.
